Telecom minister confirms affordable 5G services will roll out in India by October 12

Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced that high-speed 5G services will be available in most parts of the country in two to three years, adding that a steady rollout of the network in major circles is expected by October 12. Earlier, the government said that 5G connectivity will be launched in the country by September 29. Airtel, on the other hand, promised its availability this month.

News agency PTI, quoting the minister at a press conference, says that India offers one of the most affordable mobile tariffs in the world and the trend will continue with 5G services. “We expect an investment of around Rs 2.5 to 3 lakh crore to come into the industry. Rs 3 lakh crore is a big investment. This also leads to good employment generation. Our estimate is that 5G will reach almost all parts of the country in the next 2 -3 years,” the news agency said, referring to the Vaishnaw minister.

The DoT had earlier announced that high-speed 5G internet would be rolled out in 13 major Indian cities of Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chandigarh, Chennai, Delhi, Gandhinagar, Gurugram, Hyderabad, Jamnagar, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, and Pune.

In the latest press conference, the union minister further talked about the new Right of Way (RoW) rules which basically clarify the charges for cable laying, access to public poles, and more. The new rules offer relief to private firms when it comes to getting approval to set up infrastructure. Minister Vaishnaw: “Earlier it took 343 days to approve RoW, which has come down to 22 days. Last July, the average was even better, which was 16 days. This is a clear impact of the reforms made by the Prime Minister.” ”

The government believes the amended lineup will pave the way for companies to offer affordable 5G services in the country. Vaishnaw added that investments worth up to Rs 60,000 crore have already been made in India’s 5G-related telecom sector.

Clarification is currently awaited from the major telecommunications companies. As mentioned earlier, Airtel said its 5G services will start rolling out this month but may extend the target to next month. Jio has also hinted at an early rollout, but more details are awaited. Vi (formerly Vodafone Idea) has yet to announce a date.

BSNL Offers 10GB/Day 4G Data For 28 Days At Rs 96; BSNL 4G Is Cheaper Than Airtel, Jio?

Rumours have been buzzing for many years about BSNL launching 4G services in India.
The loss-making public sector enterprise has managed to offer the fourth generation network services in select circles using the existing 3G spectrum.
BSNL has launched two 4G-only plans which provide 10GB data per day for up to 84 days.
Here are the details…

What is the buzz of BSNL’s 4G plans?

The two prepaid plans in question are Rs 96 for 28 days and Rs 236 for 84 days which are available to BSNL 4G subscribers only in areas where the telco has enabled 4G network.
BSNL recently introduced these 10GB per day 4G services in various parts of Kolkata and the subscribers can recharge these plans.
The company may not offer these 4G plans once it becomes pan-India later this year. Currently, it can be confirmed that both these plans are available for recharge in BSNL circles where the telco has enabled 4G network.
BSNL 4G is now available across Kerala, Andhra Pradesh & Telangana, Kolkata, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Gujarat, Chennai and Tamil Nadu telco circles.
A Telecom reader said, “The speeds are also much better right now.”

The Details of BSNL’s Data Plans!

The BSNL’s data plans are priced at Rs 96 and Rs 234, both providing 10 GB 4G data per day. These plans provide only data benefits and no call and SMS benefits.
For 28 days, BSNL’s Rs 96 plan offers 280GB of data whereas the Rs 236 plan offers 2,360GB of 4G data for 84 days.
BSNL’s 4G speeds are not as spectacular with it being in a race with Bharti Airtel and Reliance Jio, but they are with an average of over 10 Mbps.
To avail of these two BSNL 4G plans, subscribers will have to get a BSNL 4G SIM card from the nearest customer care center.

In Competition with Airtel, Vodafone, and Jio!

Vodafone’s new offer provides? 499 prepaid recharge plan, comprising 1.5GB data and 100 SMS per day with truly unlimited calls for a validity of 70 days.
Reliance Jio’s? 555 plan entails 1.5GB data with a total of 126GB high-speed data and 100 SMS per day for 84 days. Also Read:- How IOT AND AI can be used to replace manpower in agriculture
The Rs. 249 prepaid recharge plan by Airtel comes with unlimited local, STD, and roaming calls on any network, 1.5GB of daily data, and 100 national SMSes per day for 28 days.
The BSNL Rs 96 plan with 10GB per day for 28 days or Rs 234 with a 10GB per day plan for 84 days is a bit more affordable data benefits wise.
But BSNL may not offer these plans once it rolls out the launch of  4G service nationwide.
