Windows 10 to get new Start menu design and updated Alt-Tab functionality

Microsoft has confirmed that it is changing how the Start menu looks on Windows 10. The new start menu design includes a cleaner look that honors the color theme of the entire block.
Live tiles, which have been the primary element of design on the start menu, will be dominantly minimal, while solid backpaper is also moving away. Microsoft hinted at a design change in February but has started rolling out testers this month.

Windows 10 to get new Start menu design and updated Alt-Tab functionality

The major change in design is the replacement of solid colors behind the logo on the tiles in the start menu with a transparent background in the uniform menu.
Microsoft says the new design for the Start Menu is more in line with the company’s Office and Microsoft Edge icons, such as the company’s fluent design and calculators, calendars, and other native apps. It’s a more streamlined look that borrows its elements from Windows 10, updated in February.
Both light and dark modes are supported by the new design, as well. However, Microsoft is also allowing users to customize the start menu with the color of their choice.Related:-Oppo Details Which Phones Have Wi-Fi Calling in India, Reveals Roadmap
Color customization will only work with Dark Mode and users can set the color by delving into Settings, then Personalization and finally, Color Settings. Hues radiate the entire start menu and taskbar, as well.
In addition, Microsoft is changing how the Alt + Tab key combination works on Windows 10. Key combinations have served as a productive tool that makes it easy to switch between applications while multitasking.
With the new update, the Alt + Tab combination will work for Microsoft Edge Tab. This means that users can switch between apps that can be open at one time in addition to tabs opened in Microsoft Edge.
There is a possibility that users may be confused with the new settings, which is why Microsoft is letting them turn it off. To turn off the setting, users need to go to Settings, then System, and finally, Multitasking. The feature currently works with Microsoft Edge’s Canary or Dev Build on Windows Insider.
The taskbar is also getting more productive and compact with new updates. Microsoft is associated with Device 10 grouping apps on the taskbar by device.Related:-Realme X Starts Receiving New Software Update With June Security Patch, PaySa and Heyfun Apps, More
For example, if an Android phone is connected to Windows 10 for notifications and other functionalities, the taskbar will group the app icon and show the phone icon. Similarly, icons will be grouped with Xbox icons when Windows 10 is paired with an Xbox account.

TikTok and over 59 other Chinese apps now banned in India

India has banned a total of 59 apps that are linked to China on the basis of ensuring secure cyberspace in the country. The list, released Monday evening by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, has some big names who have been blocked by 55 others, including Bytdans’s Tiktok, Xiaomi’s Mi Community, Tencent’s WeChat and Alibaba’s UC Browser.
One of the biggest markets for TikTok, which has more than 200 million users in India, has said that it is talking to the government on an unprecedented moratorium, while other companies remain mum so far.
MeitY cited these 59 apps as “engaged in prejudicial activities for the sovereignty and integrity of India, defense of India, protection of the state and public order.”
This would mean that apart from being removed from the app marketplace, access to all apps needs to be reduced server-side.
To ensure effective restriction on these apps, the government will have to ask Internet service providers (ISPs) in the country to block app servers on both cellular and broadband networks. These apps will not work effectively in case the ISP is blocked only after these apps reach the internet server. Related:- Best Mobile under 20000 in India right now 2020
However, it will be interesting to see how the government imposes restrictions on VPN service providers, whose tools can be used after imposing restrictions on them.
Queries sent to Airtel, Reliance Jio, and COAI remained unanswered at the time of writing.
Meanwhile, India-based companies have praised the government’s decision to uproot Chinese apps from India’s Internet ecosystem – a move that would be formal in bringing homegrown apps into the mainstream.
Apps like Chingari and Mitteron have already made headlines when they present Tiktok as a better and more secure option. The apps were removed from the Google Play store due to some copyright issues, but now the apps have been reinstalled.
So, if TickTalk has Spark and Mitron, what other popular apps do you have, as an alternative? Shareit, a widely used tool for file transfer between different platforms, can be replaced by the likes of SendGB and JioSwitch.
The Mi Community app may not have the same statins but its counterparts will be WhatsApp, Sharechat and Telegram. UC Browser is a browser for accessing the Internet, which means you can easily change it from Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Firefox, and Opera Mini on your Android and iOS devices. Related:-Realme X Starts Receiving New Software Update With June Security Patch, PaySa and Heyfun Apps, More
WeChat, in particular, is an app that works in both India and China but since apps such as WhatsApp, Telegram and Messenger it is the only means of communicating with anyone in mainland China from outside. It has to be seen what options India’s developer community comes up with for such a purpose.
Here are 59 Chinese apps that have been blocked by the Indian government:

Mitron App Hits 1 Crore Downloads on Google Play in Just Over Two Months of Launch

Mitron app, which was launched as an “Indian alternative” to TicketLock, has crossed ten million downloads on the Google Play store.
The app achieved this milestone in just two months of its launch, and the small video platform has gained popularity at a time when anti-China sentiment is at a high point in the country.
Mitron currently has favorable reviews with an average rating of 4.5 out of 4.5. The source code of the app was earlier allegedly bought from a Pakistani developer; However, its co-founders Shivank Aggarwal and Aneesh Khandelwal have tried to minimize the origin of the app’s source code.
In a press note announcing the 1 crore download milestone, Mitron CEO Shivank Aggarwal highlighted the local origins of the app.
“There is a strong sense of #VocalForLocal. We are proudly building Matron to be sensitive to users in our market and to comply with our local laws,” Aggarwal said in a statement. To create a more India-centric product with our users and we believe that is working well for us. “
Even though Mitron has been rocking downloads since its launch, the last two months have not been a cakewalk for the app at all.
At the time of its launch, many users had claimed that the short video platform contained “too many bugs” and was another Ticketock clone available in Google Play. Despite negative reviews, the app was successful in downloading 50 lakhs in a month of launch.
The app was removed from the Google Play store for violating Google’s spam and minimum functionality policy but later returned to the platform.
A cybersecurity researcher around the same time claimed that the Mitron app contained a vulnerability that could allow attackers to send messages to other users, and even follow other people or Can comment on behalf of the victim.Related:- WhatsApp upcoming features will provide a fun chatting experience
Talking about the app, the co-founders of Matron had told Gadgets 360 that it does not mimic TickTalk. He indicated that all the apps had “some common elements” and that Matron had released several versions since launch.
When asked about the app’s origins, Khandelwal said that the app’s team is based out of Bangalore and that MitronTV’s initial template was purchased from Envatomarket, an Australian marketplace.
The developers did not reveal the name of the vendor from whom they purchased the source code. Previous reports claimed the seller to be of Pakistani origin.
Mitron has caught the fancy of many, especially when Prime Minister Narendra Modi made his announcement to be “outspoken for local”. Right now due to the prevalence of anti-China sentiment in the country, attention is also being paid to this.
According to data available on App Brain, the first version of Mitron, an online resource for app developers, went live on Google Play on April 17 and saw the first 100,000 downloads in just seven days.

WhatsApp upcoming features will provide a fun chatting experience

WhatsApp is reportedly testing many new features. Every day we learn about some or all of the features that the company is developing. WhatsApp Animates has been testing stickers for Android and iOS, and it is reported that the feature will be launched soon. The company has always worked towards enhancing the user experience but this new feature is fun to use.
According to a report by WABetainfo, WhatsApp has been designing this feature for some users to see animated stickers, possibly beta users. Once implemented, users can send animated stickers to their contacts.
Some users who receive the feature can view, save, star, send and forward animated stickers, the report said. WhatsApp is not designed for everyone, so if you haven’t received it yet, don’t worry that the Messaging app will officially release this feature.
So if you are beta users, you can update your WhatsApp to 2.20.194.7 Android Beta and 2.20.70.26 iOS Beta to view animated stickers.
However, if you still can’t find updates after updating your app, back up your chat history and reinstall the messaging app from the Play Store or App Store. Even after reinstalling the app, if you can’t find animated stickers, just wait for WhatsApp to create the feature for you.
WhatsApp beta info states that there are three ways to use the feature of animated stickers. The first way to use the feature is that you can see stickers and when you see it, you can also send and receive animated stickers.
Users can also import animated stickers from third parties, and the parties offer a whole pack of animated stickers. Once the feature is fully implemented, third-party animated sticker packs can be downloaded from the WhatsApp Store.

Currently, beta versions only support stickers, which means you can’t download or import them, but after it’s officially released, users can use the app in the above ways.
WhatsApp currently allows users to send emoticons and GIFs and stickers to their contacts.
In addition to the animated sticker feature, WhatsApp also works with the Search feature through the Date feature and re-creates new storage tools. It also works to add new colors to the dark theme.

WhatsApp this week: Last seen and privacy settings glitch, Pay update, and more

WhatsApp was a week old! Instant messaging applications suffered a rare outage that affected the “last seen” and “privacy settings” features.
In another development, WhatsApp showed its readiness to launch a payment service in India. This week you might have remembered everything about WhatsApp.
Rare outage
Late on Friday, many WhatsApp users faced problems with the “last seen” feature on the app. Users also complained that they were unable to change privacy settings.
Due to the glitch, your ‘last seen’ status can be changed to ‘Nobody’ for affected users. If users try to change it manually, an error appears in the privacy settings.
Soon, users took to social networking platforms to report the problem. The outage persisted for a few hours when the app started on Saturday.
Such glitches are very common for Internet services. WhatsApp users have suffered a major outage in the past. Unlike the application going down completely, the new glitch affected privacy features – which was the first for WhatsApp.
On WhatsApp Pay
WhatsApp’s long-awaited payment service 8 “WhatsApp Pay” has been in beta phase since February 2018. Since launch, WhatsApp Pay has faced several compliance issues. The company recently told the Supreme Court of India that WhatsApp was fully compliant with the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) guidelines.
Meanwhile, WhatsApp has rolled out WhatsApp in Brazil. “We are making it easier to send and receive money for photo sharing.
We are also enabling small businesses to make sales within WhatsApp, ”Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg wrote in a post.
voice message
WhatsApp came a little late to feature voice messaging. Since its debut, the layout has not changed much. WABetainfo published a concept image, which envisions a voice message head.
It is said that WhatsApp helps users browse the app as the audio plays in the background.
Whatsapp web
WhatsApp is testing dark themes for desktop users. According to one of the recent beta updates, WhatsApp Web will receive a different dark theme using optional dark colors.
Dark mode fix
WhatsApp is reportedly working on an update to fix Dark Mode on Android. The new color scheme is said to be better compatible with lower quality displays on Android phones. The update may have a bubble color for dark mode.
